A small one as it’s 58.6% and probably won’t be my last.

The bad reviews are unwarranted. It’s a style not in vogue. A blend of Lowland whiskies so it’s light and bright. Perfect for a late afternoon primer. Nice as it is with lots of flavor but I don’t think I’d be as pleased with the regular version at 46.2%.

Update : Two Hours later...

Found this last summer in a newly opened chain store, missing the tube and the only one on the shelf. Same price as Glenfiddich 12, I couldn’t resist. The most unique whisky I’ve had in a very long time. Smells of varathane and furniture polish with fruit underneath. Super oily, less varathane in the taste, fruit, dark chocolate on the finish.

Anyone having a scotch?

I did, but nothing extraordinary. It was a Macallan Directors Edition that’s pretty tasty but in Macallen tradition  probably not worth the price the person who gave it to me paid. Then again, since I didn’t pay for it that shouldn’t matter. Good stuff!

Last month I tried my first Macalla n ( No. 5) . Like you I didn’t pay . It was good . :-)x I would have liked to get a taste of the Macallan s ulfur but got none and read the No.5 is a typical that way.

I prefer Speysides like Macallan over the Islay stuff that whisky people seem to like more. I just don’t value the iodine/ medicinal flavor like they do. I’ve never had the No. 5 but I’ve had a bottle of the 15 and it was pretty damn good but that was a while ago.

No, but I will have a drink to Robert Burns tonight when I get home. Mrs. Snuze got to go to a Robert Burns night dinner in Scotland several years ago when she was there for work.  Im very jealous.

I’m all over the place when it comes to region. L ately I’ve been looking at peated whiskies from other regions and more into the Islands. Since Christmas I’ve been enjoying Bunnahabh ain 12. Slightest smoke on the tail of fudge and fruits . Rich. N om n om n om.

I know it’s classified as the kind of scotch you’d find at airport duty-free shops, but I rather enjoy this one. I’ll be having a glass of it when I get home.

Ah, I pay $30 a bottle here. I don’t care for scotch that is very smokey. So this Shackleton is right up my alley.

Yup, I actually put together a Burns lunch at work on Friday cos I wanted an excuse to eat haggis. Did Haggis and neeps, the tatties didn’t show up but we did have fries since my colleagues weren’t too sure about the haggis (having read the ingredients) so we had a big bucket of KFC too.

Sounds awesome! I haven’t had Haggis in a very long time. Bought some a few years ago, forgot it and it got freezer burnt :-(x .

I hadn't had any for definitely a decade at least, I bought some frozen from a local expat shop but can also get it canned which apparently is pretty decent.
